David Neil Moore, also known as “Gravy Davey,” went to the lord on April 5, 2026, Easter Sunday, at the age of 42 after a courageous battle with myeloma cancer.
Born on July 2, 1983, Davey was a graduate of Keyser High School. He lived his life with a spirit that was impossible to ignore. He was free, fearless, and full of heart .
Davey was the kind of person who didn’t know what it meant to give up. Even in the face of a battle he knew he might not win, he met it with strength, determination, and a smile. His resilience and courage were an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was the definition of lion-heart.
He had a love for dirt bikes and the feeling of freedom they gave him. That same sense of freedom carried into the way he lived his life on his own terms, unapologetically and fully. Davey had a wild, carefree spirit paired with a deeply caring and loving heart. He was the kind of person you could instantly love, even if you had just met him.
Davey is survived by his two beloved daughters, Ivory Moore and Ava Moore; his mother, Joann Moore; his father, David Moore; his brother, Brock Moore and his wife, Tiffany Moore; his nieces, Macy, Libby, and Abby Moore; his sisters, Keanna Nutter and Tiffany Matthews; his bonus mother, Diann Parrish; his grandmother, Nancy Paugh; his loved ones Marshall Evans and Jessica Wrinkler; and his friend, Kenny Nutter. He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Though his time here was far too short, the impact Davey made will never fade. His strength, love, and free spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Markwood Funeral Home in Keyser, West Virginia, on Friday, April 10th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at the cemetery on Green Mountain road. Where his heart always was, up in those mountains.
