Curtis Bruce Miller
Burlington, WV – Curtis Bruce Miller, 85, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024 at his residence.
Born on August 16, 1938, in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Guy Ernest and Myrtle Maude (Lyons) Miller. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Miller, Estin Miller, Delbert Miller, and Wayne Miller; sister, Annabelle Combs; great- great granddaughter, Aleigha Rose Sampson; son-in-law, Charles Evans; sister-in-law, Jo Etta Caldwell and nieces, Louetta and Loretta McDonald. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Curtis graduated from Keyser High School and retired from Westvaco after 43 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Reese Chapel and had a strong love for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
In his spare time he farmed and ran a greenhouse but his greatest accomplishment was raising his two daughters with his wife of 67 years Joann who he loved and cherished. He leaves behind an honored legacy to 5 generations of family through his hard work and being such a wonderful provider. He enjoyed gardening with his wife in the flowers beds and could grow the best fruits and vegetables. Curtis never met a stranger and welcomed anyone who came into his home with love and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joann Lee (Kiggins) Miller; daughters, Marcia Bise and her husband Leonard and Diane Lee Evans; grandchildren, Sam J. Clark and wife Lisa, Holly Bean and husband Colby, Heather Evans, Christie L. Hartlove and husband Barry and Daniel P. Bise; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel W. Bentley, Cheyenne M. Kline, Chandler D. Bentley and boyfriend Troy Moreland, James W. Sampson, II, Stephanie M. Miller, Makailyn E. Spiker and Naylin L. Cook, John W. Sampson Jr. , Chelsie L. Sampson, Chris S. Sampson, Chloe Hartlove, Wyatt Hartlove and Blake Bise and his great-great grandchildren, Zachary S. Rhodes, Grayson M. Sampson, Carter J.W. Sampson, Addilyn M. Bentley, Nolan F.W. Cook and Camden L. Cook. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Dilbert and Betty Kiggins and their family; sister-in-law, Ruth V. Miller and his nieces and nephews, Wayne B. and Paige Miller, Shannon and Matt Doman, Sandra R. and JR Rounds, Cynthia L. Fazzalore, Tina and Bryan Goldizen and Ernie and Kim Miller. He is also survived by close neighbors and friends, The Borror and Harris Families, Bill and Marilyn Yokum, Barbara Evans and the family of the late Lloyd Shoemaker.
Private family services to be held with interment following in Potomac Memorial Gardens. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Calagan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
