Conald Walter Rogers
KEYSER, WV – Conald Walter Rogers, 92, of Keyser, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Potomac Valley Hospital.
Born February 6, 1931 in Burlington, WV, he was the son of the late Walter G. and Bessie E. (Fleek) Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Price) Rogers on June 1, 2000.
Conald was a retired meat cutter for A&P Stores, a U.S. Navy Korean Veteran and a former part-time employee at Markwood Funeral Home and Minnich’s Flower Shop. He served as the past Vice-President of Burlington United Family Services, and was a member of American Legion Boyce-Houser Post 41, and lifetime member of Maryland P.T.A.
He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Keyser and had also been a member of the Keyser Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Emery and husband, Bob of Delray Beach, FL; a twin brother, Ronald A. Rogers of Cumberland, MD and a special friend and companion, Naomi Snider and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Reda Williams of Glen Burnie, MD preceded him in death. Another friend that he considered as a “chosen son” is Elon Patterson of Keyser, WV.
Conald was also an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp on Pine Swamp Road.
In respecting Conald’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no public viewing or funeral service. Private inurnment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
