B. Gene Burgess
KEYSER, W.Va. – B. Gene Burgess, 80, of Brook Haven Circle, Keyser, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at his residence.
Born October 1, 1927 in Arthur, WV, he was a son of the late Jonathan W. and Bettie (Goldizen) Burgess.
Mr. Burgess was owner of Burgess Farm Service and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former director of the National Bank of Keyser; a member of Keyser Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and Trustee, and a member of White Poplar Hunting Club.
Surviving are his wife Jean (Harman) Burgess, his children, Jeanette Keller and husband Ralph of Fisher, WV, Lynn Luvara and husband Angelo of Keyser, Jeff Burgess and wife Jennifer of Keyser, Kay Stablein and husband Marc of Erie, PA, Tim Burgess of Charlottesville, VA and Shelly Nicotra and husband Fortunato of Paramus, NJ; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday, July 3, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no viewing on Friday. Funeral Services will be conducted in Keyser Presbyterian Church Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Ernest L. Poland, Jr., officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
