Brian Phillip “Bunzel” Alt
KEYSER, WV – Brian Phillip “Bunzel” Alt, 56, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at UMPC Western Maryland after a valiant battle with liver cancer.
Born on November 12, 1968, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of Jeanne L. Tettenburn and Phillip J. Alt.
Bunzel was graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1987 and was a Brown Stock Operator for the New Page Corporation. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend whose kindness touched all who knew him.
Left to cherish in his memory in addition to his parents, Jeanne L. Tettenburn and Phillip Alt and wife Corine are his devoted wife of 24 years, Cheri A. (Timney) Alt; his three children whom he was so proud of, Christian Alt, Nicholas Alt and Madison Alt and fiancé Andrew Locke and his two sisters, Lisa Elder and husband Jonathan and Becky Rainey and husband Kevin. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Cheri Gannon and husband Eric and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.

Friends will be received on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 1:00 – 3:00pm. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00pm with Reverend David R. Peters and Pastor Beth Jacobson officiating. Inurnment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
