Beverly M. Kitzmiller

Elgin, SC - Beverly M. Kitzmiller, 74, of Elgin, South Carolina, died at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, February 6th, 2021.

     Born in Washington, D.C. on February 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. Moore and Hazel Wingard Moore.  She also was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Jack W. Kitzmiller, on May 24, 2008. 

     Surviving are daughters, Keli (Bob) Brown of Camden, South Carolina, and Krista (Alan) Best of Elgin, South Carolina; stepson, Scott Kitzmiller of Bristol, Indiana; sister, Darlene (William) Harman of Keyser, West Virginia; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jordan, and Peyton Best of Elgin, South Carolina; step-grandchildren, Kyle (Jennifer) Kitzmiller of Arcadia, Indiana, and Kohl Kitzmiller of Indianapolis, Indiana; step-great-grandchild, Natalie Kitzmiller, Arcadia, Indiana; nieces, Gina Kiser and Misti Mills of Keyser, West Virginia, and Wilma Lee (Lynn) Johnson of Centre, Alabama; nephew James (Karen) Davis of Elk Garden, West Virginia; five great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews.

     Mrs. Kitzmiller was a 1964 graduate of Keyser High School and attended Potomac State College.  She married Jack W. Kitzmiller on July 5, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They lived in multiple locations across the country until they settled in Goshen, Indiana in 1977.  Mrs. Kitzmiller worked for the Elkhart County Courthouse in Goshen for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, doting on her granddaughters, playing card and board games, watching mystery movies and TV shows, reminiscing past adventures, and giving belly rubs to her beloved cat Kiki.

     Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home in Keyser, West Virginia on Saturday, February 13th 2021 from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Services will immediately follow the visitation with Reverend Paul Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, West Virginia.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Mineral County Humane Society, C/O Joy Fertig, 831 Cut Off Road, Keyser, West Virginia 26726.
