Beulah (Bobbie) M. Alderton
Elk Garden, WV - Beulah (Bobbie) M. Alderton, 95, of Elk Garden, WV died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Mountain City Center for Rehab and Nursing, Frostburg, MD, with family by her side.
Born November 28, 1925, in Mount Storm, WV, she was the daughter and youngest child of Tully P. and Lessie (Barb) Duling and brothers, Elmer, Lawrence, Haven and Allen Duling and sisters, Peggy Osborne and Eileen Shank. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Alderton, Jr. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
“Bobbie” was school secretary for Elk Garden Schools for 27 years and loved the staff and students that she worked with. She was a 50 year member of the Methodist WSCS and she attended the Hartmansville Methodist Church. She was also a caregiver for several family members. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Everyone loved her homemade rolls and homemade potato salad.
She is survived by one son: Robert Dennie Alderton and wife, Conni of Newburgh, Indiana, and two daughters: Barbara Mason and husband, Pat, Keyser and JoAnn Howdyshell and husband, Mike, San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Pam Diaz (Matt), Ellerslie, MD, Tracey Page, Vincennes, IN, Michael Alderton (Jessica), Vincennes, IN, Nancy McDonald (Lowell), Falling Waters, WV, Amy Zoch (Donald), Frederick, CO, and Sara Foster (Jerod), San Antonio, TX., 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family would like to thank home caregivers Penny Brafford, Edie Paugh, and Rita Stullenbarger for their wonderful care. Another special thank you to the Haven Staff and the Activities Staff at Mountain City Center.
Visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2021 at Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser; from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at Nethken Hill Church, Elk Garden at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Interment following in Kalbaugh Cemetery.
