Betty Lou (Nelson) Lewis
KEYSER, WV - Betty Lou (Nelson) Lewis, 85, of Keyser, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Potomac Valley Hospital.
Born on February 7, 1938 in Shaw, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Ruth (Cross) Nelson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Dale Lewis, Sr.; infant son, Johnny Dale Lewis; her daughters, Judy Broadwater and Virginia Clark; brother, Clarence Nelson and her sister, Rosie Elizabeth Nelson.
Betty was a former Bus Driver for the Westernport Senior Center and a member of the Cross Independent Church. She loved a variety of things like mowing the lawn, playing Bingo, reading the Bible and dining out with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish in her memory are her son, Ernest Dale Lewis, Jr. and wife Gayle; daughter, Debbie Lou Schwinabart; 11 grandchildren, Mitchell Lewis, Krista Wilt and husband Ronald, Nathaniel Clark and wife Kristen, Robert Clark, Betty Clark, Brian Clark and fiancée Christina, Jennifer Daugherty and husband Randy, Tonya Lewis and husband Jeff, Beth Crites and husband Rodney, Debra Streets and husband Donnie and Tamera Paschall and husband David; brother, Ringo Nelson; sister, Mary Jones and husband Paul and her 14 great grandchildren, Shelby, Nick, Brydan, Noah, Mason, Bryson, Ashley, John, Brittany, Dustin, Shayden, Micah, Braxton and Ryan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Betty L. Lewis to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:00 -1:00pm. Funeral services immediately following the visitation at 1:00pm with Reverend Kenny L. Mason officiating. Interment will be held in Sinclair Cemetery, Cross, WV.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Lewis, Mitchell Lewis, Robert Clark, Brian Clark, Nathaniel Clark and Ronald Wilt.
