Bette Rae Tranum-Mallow
KEYSER, W.Va. - Bette Rae Tranum-Mallow, 82, of Keyser, formerly of Martinsburg, WV, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at her residence.
Born September 1, 1939 in Romney, WV, she was the daughter of the late James W. Knisley and Love Vanscoy Davis. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas L. Tranum, Jr., April 5, 1999 and a son, Robert E. Hartman, May 6, 2005.
Mrs. Mallow was a staff writer for Mineral Daily News Tribune, a former writer of the Martinsburg Journal and owner of Hartman Paving in Martinsburg. She was a member of the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Choir. She was also a member of Fountain Ruritan, Mineral County Republican Club and Former Chairman for the Regional Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Mallow; her two sons; Thomas P. Hartman, Keyser and C. Joseph Hartman, Inwood, WV: her daughter, Cyndi Collins of Keyser, WV; her three stepsons, Thomas L. Tranum III, Mark Tranum and Steven Mallow, all of Keyser; her five stepdaughters, Cindy Tranum-Peebles, Keyser, Beth Veach, Romney, WV, Dawn Parsons of Franklin, WV, N. Dawn Mallow and Crystal A. Shoemaker both of Keyser and her brother, James Davis and wife Pat of Tempe, AZ. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 1:00 – 3:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 1, 2021 at Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, Fountain, at 1:00pm with the Reverend Marshall Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
