Anne Marie (Moore) Peterson

Anne M. Peterson

     KEYSER, WV - Anne M. Peterson was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 6, 1937 and died on May 4, 2024 at her home in Keyser, WV.  She was 86.

     Her parents were Teresa (McDowell) and Luke Moore.  She was the 9th of 11 siblings.  Both of her parents had died by the time Anne was 8 years old.  Her and her remaining siblings were then split up to live with relatives in Philly.  All did well. 

     Anne married Lou Peterson in Philadelphia.  Their 4 children were born in Philly:  Linda, Bobby, Danny and Louie.  They moved to Keyser, WV in 1968 when Lou was transferred to be the manager of Penn Ventilator.  They divorced in 1985. 

     Anne worked as a cafeteria cook for Mineral County Schools (New Creek) from 1986 to 2001.  Anne always told you her thoughts and made sure that you didn’t go hungry.  She had a ton of common sense, many great ideas and loved to dance!  

     Surviving her are her children, (Linda & husband Jerry Guinn, Bob & wife Karen, Dan & wife Kady, and Lou); grandchildren, (Matt & wife Bridgett, DJ, Nikki & husband Ryan, and Kayla); great grandchildren, (Haley, Macy, Ari, Kenzie, Bob, and Leo); her sister, Kay Florkowski; her brother, Jimmy Moore; her brother-in-law, George Peterson; many Philly nieces & nephews and close friend Tillie Selders. 

     The family would like to thank Gabbie, George, Tabby, Katie, Kim, Mineral County Family & Aging Services, and WVU Hospice for their excellent care.  

     At Anne’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
