ELK GARDEN, WV – Andrew Lee Evans, 81, of Elk Garden, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at his camp in Mt. Storm surrounded by his family.
Born on September 22, 1943, he was the son of the late Harry and Arbbelin (Halterman) Evans of Elk Garden. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Scott Lough.
Lee was a devoted and caring husband, father and pappy. He was a proud retired coal miner and hard work and perseverance defined him throughout his life. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed the camaraderie found among fellow miners.
Known too many as “Uncle Lee, “his kindness and generosity reached far beyond his immediate family. He loved spending time at his camp with his many friends, making memories and lasting bonds.
Left to cherish in his memory are his loving wife of 55 wonderful years, Patricia “Patty” (Schwinabart) Evans; his son, Scott Evans of Elk Garden; his daughter, Tonya Lough of Mt Storm, WV; 4 grandchildren, Haley Evans, Caleb Evans, Dalton Lough (Hailey) and Hunter Lough; 3 great-grandson, Jeffrey Williams, Oliver Quade and Hudson Lough and his little dog, “Red”. He is also survived by his siblings, Jenny Savage, Lawrence Evans (Nancy), Juanita Rinker (Carl), Ken Evans (Karen), Rita Harvey (Charlie) and Dave Evans (Tammy) and his many special nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Lee's Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the House Of Prayer, Hartmansville Road, Elk Garden, WV from 2:00 - 4:00pm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
