Amelia Lee (Hott) Saville
Keyser, WV - Amelia Lee (Hott) Saville got her wings and went to walk with the angels on Saturday, May 18, 2024. At the age of 86, she passed away after a five-month battle with mesothelioma. Her final moments were spent at her home in Keyser with her loving daughters. Known for her honesty, caring personality, and quiet determination, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Born at home in Headsville, WV, on Sept. 6, 1937, Amelia was the youngest of five siblings born to the late Wilco and Rachel (Jones) Hott. She was a graduate of Keyser High School’s Class of ’55. She was also a “Murphy Girl,” working at G. C. Murphy in Keyser until she married her devoted and loving husband of 32 years, Bernard Lee Saville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by siblings Wilco Hott, Jr., Viola Pennington, and Robert Hott, all of Keyser.
Amelia was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church. She loved and cared for the women in her Bane Sunday School Class like sisters.
Her true joy came from appreciating life’s simple moments. She did not wish for stardom but found great happiness in being the central figure in her family and children’s lives. To them, she was a star, and that is all that ever mattered to her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Vickie Saville and Tammie Saville of Keyser and sister, Jean Corbin of Kearneysville.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to WVU Home Health Care and WVU Hospice for the care and compassion they provided.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Amelia Saville to Grace United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 40, Keyser, WV, 26726.
