Alice L. Hedrick

     KEYSER, W.Va - Alice Louise (Clay) Hedrick, of Keyser, died on Friday, December 19, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

    Mrs. Hedrick was born on March 27, l923 in Glassport, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Richard Clay and Florence (Rohrbaugh) Clay. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herschel M. Hedrick, and her sisters Patricia Morgan and Winifred Prines.

     Alice was a homemaker and a caregiver to her many family members and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, serving there faithfully. She was also a long-time member of the New Creek Homemakers and volunteered at the Clary Street Learning Center for several years.

     She is survived by her brother Richard “Sonny” Clay and his wife Jean of Keyser, and her daughters and their husbands: Nancy Brown and Dave of Kissimmee, FL and Sally Reilly and Frank of Morgantown, WV. Grandchildren include: David Brown and wife Jackie, Chris Brown and wife Ellen, Erin Stillman and husband Bob, and Briana Lomax and husband Lucas. Additionally, Alice is survived by six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     Family and friends will be received at Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Vickie K. Minnich officiating.  Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

     If desired, memorial donations may be made in memory of Alice L. Hedrick to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 232, Keyser, WV 26726.
