Woodrow C. “Woody” Wilson, Jr.

 

     KEYSER, WV – Woodrow C. “Woody” Wilson, Jr., 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his residence with the presence of his loved ones after a nearly 15 year courageous battle with cancer.

     Born on December 21, 1943, in Keyser, he was a son of the late Woodrow C. Wilson, Sr. and Lillian Ella “Peachy” (Spicer) Wilson.

     He graduated from St. Peter’s High School and Catherman’s Business School. He served in the West Virginia National Guard and retired from First United Bank as an Assistant Vice President after 42 years.

     Woody was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Westernport, MD, a lifetime member of Kelly Mansfield Post 52 American Legion, former member of Mill Creek Country Club, and Piedmont Loins Club. He was an avid Yankee Fan and enjoyed his golfing. Woody dearly cherished his sons and four legged faithful companion, Maxine.

     Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. Wilson of 50 years; his three sons, Charlie Wilson and wife Wendy of Westernport, MD, Chris Wilson and wife Karen of Weaverville, NC and Aaron Wilson and wife Chelsea of Keyser; four grandchildren, Haylee, Ryan, Abby, Ethan, and one on the way.  He is also survived by a brother, Timothy P. Wilson and wife Athena and his sister, Deborah A. Pamepinto and husband Peter both of Keyser.

     If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 2151, Memphis, TN 38105, Hospice of Potomac Valley Hospital, 100 Pin Oak Drive, Keyser, WV 26726 or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.

     At Mr. Wilson's request, the family will hold a private service. Arrangements have been entrusted to care of the Markwood Funeral Home.

     The Family would like to thank Jennifer Rosedale and the staff of Hospice of Potomac Valley Hospital for their tender and compassionate care.
