Walter Arlie “Johnny” Spitzer
KEYSER, WV – Walter Arlie “Johnny” Spitzer, 88, of Keyser, died on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Piney Valley.
Born on January 18, 1930 in Keyser, he was the only son of the late Walter “Fred” and Elviria Pearl (Smith) Spitzer.
Johnny graduated Keyser High School Class of 1948, served in the United States Army Korean War and was a former Carman for B&O Railroad. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Transportation Union, VFW Post 3518-Nancy Hanks, Loyal Order of the Moose and a Lifetime member of American Legion Victory Post 155. In his earlier years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his sisters, Ella L Angle of Maumee, OH and Judy A. Whitman of Amherst, OH; three nieces, Candace Millon, Deborah Whitman and Lauri Hubach; two nephews, Charles Angle and Chris Angle and his special long-time friend, Nancy Condron.

Family will receive friends at the Markwood Funeral Home on Saturday September 1, 2018 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm with funeral following at 2:00pm with the Reverend Wayne Gosnell Officiating. Interment in Potomac Memorial Gardens with Military Honors accorded by American Legion Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
