Ruth “Jackie” Altobello

     KEYSER, WV – Ruth “Jackie” Altobello, 94, of Keyser, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Potomac Valley Hospital.

     Born January 22, 1923 in Princeton, WV, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Elizabeth (Anderson) Gibbs.  Preceding her in death are her former husband, Ora “Joe” Altobello, two brothers, Everett and William Gibbs and two sisters, Annie S. Mills and Geraldean “Deanie” E. Chakiris.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

     Mrs. Altobello was a former clerk at Reed Drug Store and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

     Surviving are her children, Joseph Altobello and wife Marlene, Jerome Altobello and wife Beverly, John Altobello and friend Vicki Virts, and Robin Ann Altobello; her grandchildren, Christopher, Jared, Lindsay, James and Matthew and her great-grandchildren, Luca, Enzo, Gianni, Noah, Emmy, Lane and Collin;  nieces JoAnn and Beth and nephew Peter and her pet cat, Henry.  

      A private graveside service will be held at Potomac Memorial Gardens in January with the Reverend Lauren Godwin officiating.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mineral County Humane Society, c/o Joy Fertig, 831 Cut Off Road, Keyser, or Mineral County Library, 105 N. Main Street, Keyser, WV 26726.
