Richard Lee “Rick” Wright “The One Arm Bandit”, 67, of Ridgeley, WV passed away peacefully on August 14, 2019.
Born on August 16, 1951, he was a son of Harry Wright and the late Eleanore Wright.
Rick leaves behind his father, Harry Wright; son, Dalton Wright and wife Ashley; sister, Cathy Ford and brothers, Tom Wright and wife Chris and Mike Wright and wife Marisa. Rick also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Rick was a former truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was always a hard worker even though he only had the use of one arm due to Cerebral Palsy and never allowed his disability to hold him back. He was a very giving person who always put the needs of other above his own.
His son, Dalton was his pride and joy. As a child Dalton played football. Rick never missed a practice or game. He was a very proud father who often reminisced about how much he enjoyed watching his son play for the same team he himself played for as a child.
Ricks passion was racing and he was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. He also loved playing horseshoes and shooting pool.
Anyone that know rick also knows that he was a simple man, not fancy or flashy. He wouldn’t want us to mourn his death with tears. Instead he would want us all to celebrate his life with a drink. So here’s to you Rick! You will forever be loved and missed “Yea Buddy” God Speed!
In accordance with Rick’s wishes there will be no public service. Anyone wishing to honor Rick’s memory may do so by donation to Harry Wright, 277 Charles St. Ridgeley, WV 26753 to help with final expenses.
