My husband, Harry Bosley was a graduate of Fort Ashby High class of 1955. I remember when we were dating and he played basketball at F.A. and Mr. Sayers was the coach. My husband has passed but I just want to say that Mr. Sayers was one of his favorite teachers and coaches.

What a great teacher and coach. We had some wonderful memories at Fort Ashby High School. I had visited with him about a month ago at Piney Valley Nursing Home. We had a nice visit and I am so glad I stopped in that day. Such a kind, courteous and caring gentleman.

Coach was my absolute Favorite teacher at Ft Ashby High. I knew how genuine and caring he was from the time I moved here in 1974. He had such a good sense of humor and he loved his job and his kids. God Bless you all for such a hard loss.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Butch. I knew Arvela best, but would often see your Dad and Mom when they first dated. What a lovely couple. I would be baby sitting at my Aunt Cat's and would always give and get a wave from them as they traveled up the road. Condolences to you and your family

I am a member of Assumption Church and also a volunteer at Piney Valley. I am saddened by Mr.Sayers' passing. He was always so pleasant and congenial when I visited with him at PV. He managed to smile even when he was dealing with the discomforts of illness. I had a lot of respect for him! Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

What a fine man Coach was. I will never forget the basketball opportunity he gave me to be on his varsity team my sophomore, junior, and senior years at Ft. Ashby HS. His coaching skills combined with Rodney Knott's and Bernie Wolford's scoring duo took us to the WV playoffs in Charleston in 1968!
I'm 66 now, have a half court basketball pad in my back yard and every night when I go there to shoot around, I am thinking of him, and certainly will continue to do so.
Thanks, Coach. Forever remembered.
