SHORT GAP, WV – Maureene L. “Dimp” Lupis, 70, of Short Gap, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, surrounded by her family.
Born on February 19, 1947 in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late William and Freda (Steward) Simmons. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lois “Tiney” Llewellyn and Peggy Davy and two brothers, Roger Simmons and Dennis Steward.
Dimp was a very special and giving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially holidays, and was an accomplished cook and baker of deserts. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, William “Bill” Lupis; her son, David Lupis and wife Tammy of Lakewood; her daughter, Jeannine Bell and husband Roger of Indian Land, SC; her four grandchildren, Cayle Lupis, Chasitie Sisk and husband Derick, Johnny Bell and Dillon Bell and her one special great-grandson, Colden James Sisk. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Simmons and wife Jean of Fairmont; two brothers-in-law, James Lupis and wife Carole of Chestertown, MD and Mike Lupis of Ridgeley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Assumption Catholic Church, 34 James Street, Keyser, on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the church following the visitation.
Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser, WV.
