Mary Maxine (Armentrout) Murphy

     CUMBERLAND, MD – Mary Maxine Murphy, 78, a resident of Kensington house, Cumberland and formerly of Keyser, went to the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at WM Regional Medical Center.  

     Born on November 16, 1938 in Beryl, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lester J. and Minnie C. (Kuykendall) Armentrout.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Murphy and five brothers, Raymond, Junior, John, Orville and Leroy Armentrout.  

     Maxine was a 1957 graduate of Piedmont High School. She retired from Anchor Glass Corporation. She was a member of Church of Assumption, VFW Post 6775, Queen’s Point Auxiliary and Women of the Moose Chapter 191.

     Surviving are her son, Robert Nelson of Roundup, Montana; her brother, Marshall Armentrout of Short Gap, WV and two grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Nelson and Daniel Nelson.

     A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, 34 James Street, Keyser, with Fr. Paul Mundumoozhikkara as celebrant.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

     Private inurnment will be in St. Thomas Columbarium, Keyser, WV.
