KEYSER, WV – Leota I. “Odie” Fisher, 89, of Cornell Street, Keyser, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her residence.
Born November 15, 1927 in Vindex, MD, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Jenny (Puffenburger) Ellifritz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. Fisher, Sr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
“Odie” was a former manager of Polish Pines Restaurant. She attended Catherman’s Business School in Cumberland, MD. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and a member of Boyce Houser Post 41 American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Sandra Menchion of Keyser, Deborah Ravenscroft and husband David of New Creek and James R. Fisher, Jr. and wife Vallie of Fort Ashby and her grandchildren, Melissa Simpkins, Patricia Green, Tina Hawk, Jimmy Fisher, Jason Ravenscroft, Matt Ravenscroft and Andy Ravenscroft. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and her Bestest Friend, Mary Mosser.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at First United Methodist Church, 32 N. Davis Street, Keyser, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 24 with Pastor Shirley Reed and the Reverend Vickie Minnich officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
