Harry R. Davis, Sr.
FORT WASHINGTON, MD - Harry R. Davis, Sr., 91, of Fort Washington, MD passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 13, 2019 of natural causes.
Harry graduated from Keyser High and went on to Potomac State College of WV University where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. Continuing his education, he went on to attend and graduate from Virginia Polytech Institute in Blacksburg, VA with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and served from 1946-1948 and a member of the Oxon Hill United Methodist Church in Oxon Hill, MD.
Harry built his career in the railroad, moving often as he climbed the corporate ladder. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad (Penn Central), United States Railway Association and was a consultant for Sverdrup Engineering Services after retiring from the Federal Government.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara (Fulton) Davis and leaves his children, Charles Davis and wife Michelle of Indiana, Harry Davis, Jr and wife, Pamela of New Jersey, and Kyle Davis McMaster of Arizona and five grandchildren: Sally, Eric, Brendan, Megan and Jake. He also leaves six great granddaughters: Bryleigh, Maggie, Quinn, Emily, Paige and Audrey.
Harry will be missed by his many friends and extended family. A private service will be held at a later date in Keyser, WV. If desired, family requests donations be made to the Queen’s Meadow Point Cemetery, PO Box 476, Keyser, WV 26726.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, WV.
