     Eugene Duane "Gene" Fisher

KEYSER, WV - In the comfort of his own home under the loving care of family, friends, and hospice, Eugene “Gene” Duane Fisher of Keyser, WV,  journeyed to the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019.

     He has joined his parents, Leslie Fisher and Loretta (Gentry) Fisher, his brothers, Bob and Johnny Fisher, and his sister, Shirley Berg.   Gene is loved and cherished by his loving wife of 43 years, Alice (Nazelrod) Dawson Fisher; his daughters, Christa (Fisher) Davies and husband Scott M. of Burlington, Becky (Dawson) Cathell and husband David of Paw Paw and Theresa (Dawson) Michael and husband Donald A. of Keyser; 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

     Born in 1943 in Westernport, MD, he graduated from Bruce High in 1961 and served in the US Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970.  He worked for over 40 years at Luke Mill.  A member of Grace Mineral Baptist Church, he has enjoyed reading God’s Word, playing the organ, spending hours in his workshop, building and fixing tractors, repairing and flying model airplanes, attending airshows, visiting friends and family, taking his family on road trips across the country, helping others, and even writing hymns from time to time.  He also shared the same love that his father had for fishing as well as collecting and restoring Indian motorcycles. His perfect and complete joy is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

     Family and friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6-8pm.  Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Kris Lengel of Grace Mineral Baptist Church officiating. Interment immediately following service in Potomac Memorial Garden, Keyser and followed by gathering for a meal, fellowship, and prayers at the Grace Mineral Baptist Church.
