Erma Wilson Lemon

     KEYSER, WV – Erma W. Lemon, 90, of Keyser went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2017 at Potomac Valley Hospital.

     Born on March 24, 1927 in Barton, MD, she was a daughter of the late James and Pearl (Bray) Wilson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years on May 15, 2011, Lewis L. Lemon, whom she married on April 25, 1947; four brothers, Charles, William, Robert and Richard Wilson and five sisters, Virginia Baughman, Margaret Boal, Katherine Dawson, Norma Knott and Anna Buettner.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

     Erma was a 1945 graduate of Barton High School.  She had been employed at Kelly Springfield Tire Company, The Style Shop, WV Department of Highways/Accounting Department and Shapiro’s Ladies Store.  She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many committees, board member and other activities.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and played bridge with the Candlewyck group, but her true love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed talking to family and friends, always wanting to know “how things were going” and “what was new”.

     Surviving are her sons, David L. Lemon and wife Diane (Theis) of Keyser and Lewis L. Lemon, Jr. and wife Pam (Magnum) Fairfax Station, VA; three grandchildren, Mollie Altobello and husband Chris J. of Keyser, Mitchell L. Lemon of Nashville, TN and Alexa T. Lemon of Fairfax Station, VA; and three great-grandsons, Luca, Enzo and Gianni Altobello of Keyser, numerous nephews and nieces and many loved family and friends.

     Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m.

     Please note - Funeral services will be conducted at a later date - Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 30 South Mineral Street, Keyser, with Pastor Lauren Godwin officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.  Interment will follow in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
