I was sorry to read of your mother's passing.  She was a lovely lady
and always had a warm smile for everyone.  I know that you will

Joan, Sally & Mary Louise,
I am so saddened by your Mom’s/sister's passing! Although I did not know her prior to her coming to Piney Valley, I felt as though I had known her much longer. Even though she was dealing with advanced age and its related health problems, it was still very obvious that Emily had always been a very sweet, kind, gracious Christian lady. Those characteristics were still evident in the midst of failing health. She was a faithful attendee of our Red Hat group activities and she seemed to enjoy them. I will definitely miss her sweet smile when I visit at Piney Valley and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to know her. There is no doubt that she is rejoicing with all the angels and saints on our Lord’s Day of Resurrection! Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this time of loss and during the weeks and months ahead as you make this difficult adjustment.

Emily was an inspiration and heart felt friend since I got to know her and Horsey in the early 80s. She was such a funny, no nonsense, and devoted wife, and after Horsey's  passing we exchanged notes, cards, and flowers for all these years. She made blankets for my sons when they were born, remembered their birthdays, and served as my common sense and faithful sounding board when we talked each holiday season, till this last year. My world, all our worlds, are poorer for her passing, but what a testament to life! I wish all her family joy in her memory.

Joan and Sally, I am so very sorry to read this.  Your mom was a wonderful person and I was so very blessed to get to know her.  I had a lot of fun with her while I was in the nursing home.  She had a great sense of humor and was just a very loving woman.  Please know all of you are in my prayers.
