     KEYSER, WV – Joan Evans and Sally Taylor want to let you know that on April 11, 2017, their beloved Mother, Emily Grove, awakened in the loving, opened arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She departed her earthly home surrounded by her family.  

     Mom grew up on a farm during the depression years.  When World War II called our men into battle, she went to work at the Celanese.  Later, she worked at G. C. Murphy’s in Piedmont at the candy counter.  Customers still remember her pleasantly waiting on them.

     Mom was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.  There was always a baked cake and coffee brewing for family and friends to sit around the kitchen table and talk about the good ole days.  Our home was filled with love and laughter.

     If anyone had a need, Mom would give the shirt off her back if it would help.  Now, Mom’s heart of gold has paid off for she is walking the streets of gold in heaven.  We are sure she earned crowns to lay at the feet of Jesus.

     Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ora (Bean) Paugh, husband, Francis L. “Horsey” Grove, a loving daughter, Virginia Smith, a grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Evans, a sister, Bertha Paugh, and two brothers, Clarence Paugh and Robert Lee Paugh.

     Mom is survived by two daughters, Sally Taylor and husband Brad, Joan Evans and husband Danny; a sister, Mary L. Green and husband Paul; a sister-in-law, Josephine Paugh; a son-in-law, Ben Smith; six grandchildren, Kenneth Smith (Alison), Tammy Self (Archie, Jr.), Barb Gulbronson (Charles), Cyndie Taylor, Chris Evans (Karen), Tim Evans (Ericka).  She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, Erin, Tyler, Stacey, Allen, Amanda, Nikki, Tony, Zach, Haleigh, Kennedy, Jessie, Addison, Felicia, Michael, Jonathan, Elizabeth and five great-great grandchildren, Zoey, Brynsyn, Kaleb, Hunter and Oliver.

     Mom, you were given almost 97 years on this earth.  We are blessed to call you Mother.  We love you.  We will miss you.  Until we meet in heaven, God Bless You, Mom!   Proverbs 3:15.

     The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2 PM with the Pastor Charles Gulbronson officiating.

     Interment will follow at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
