Elwood P. "Buzz" Hollingsworth

     KEYSER, WV – Elwood P. “Buzz” Hollingsworth, 90, of Keyser passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Potomac Valley Hospital.

     Born on June 27, 1926 in Keyser, he was a son of the late Edward Thad Hollingsworth, Sr. and Mary (Smith) Hollingsworth.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Elwood P. Hollingsworth, Jr, a daughter, Barbara Thomas, a granddaughter, Nicole Camp, six brothers, Edwin, Robert, James, Edward, Joseph and Hugh Hollingsworth and four sisters, Geraldine Bruce, Twin Eleanor Redman, Emma Jean Daniels and Marion Hollingsworth.

     Elwood served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner of Hollingsworth Transfer Services and retired from Farmers and Merchants Bank.  Buzz was a lifetime member and Commander twice of the American Legion Washington Smith Post 152 and lifetime member of the VFW Aubrey Robert Stewart Post 5957.

     Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Anna Lee (Redman) Hollingsworth; his daughters, Tanya Hart, Regina Davis (Brooke), Vivian Keys (Rodney), Sharon Deans (Dennis) and Stasia Hollingsworth; his brothers, Walter (Jeanette) and Donald (Felicia) Hollingsworth and his sister, Wanda Woods.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bryan Davis (Linda), Jeffrey Keys, Jennifer Sides (Lamont), Heather Ali (Kamal) and Jamie Deans; his great-grandchildren, Kamal and Kalia Ali, Jordan, Amani and Caleb Sides, Tyson and Raquel Deans and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, March 31, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Wayne Gosnell officiating.

     Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, where military honors will be accorded by U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Fort Cumberland Post #13 American Legion Honor Guard.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
