Deborah Jean “Debbie” Tranum
KEYSER, WV – Deborah Jean “Debbie” Tranum, 69, of Fountain, died on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Potomac Valley Medical with a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born on May 18, 1948 in Elkins, WV, she was a daughter of the late Bayard and Jean (Ambrose) Swecker. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Dale McDonald.
Deborah attended Potomac State College and graduated from Glenville College. She was a retired Special Education Teacher from Romney Elementary School and formerly at Maysville.
Debbie was a member of the Retired Teacher Association and Former member of Winebrenner Gospel Group. She loved her Lord, music and church piano.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas L. “Tom” Tranum III; her children, Tracie McDonald and fiancé Scott Bursey of Denver, CO, Jesse Swecker McDonald of Keyser, Sheila Tranum of Keyser, Thomas Tranum IV and wife Jessica of Keyser, Monica Machin and husband Gary of Cumberland, MD and Robin Leatherman and husband Chris of Keyser; her sisters, Brenda Heavener and husband Dick of Hartmansville and Tammie Daniels of Harman; her grandchildren and two very special grandchildren, Ethan and Jayden. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Cynthia Combs of Keyser, Dawn Parsons and husband Karl of Franklin, Beth Tranum of Westernport; brother-in-law, Mark Tranum and fianceé Tammy Vanskiver of Keyser and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the Markwood Funeral Home on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Assembly of God Church, 231 Newton Street, Keyser with Pastor Randy G. Leatherman and Pastor Donna G. Leatherman Officiating. A Private Committal Service will take place in Potomac Memorial Gardens at a later date.
