Scott Alan Tasker
KEYSER, WV – Scott Alan Tasker, 52, of Keyser, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland surrounded by his family.
Born on January 11, 1970 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of George and Eva (Bean) Tasker.
Scott graduated from Elk Garden High School, Class of 1988 and attended Allegany Community College. He was the Co-Owner of Just Piddling in Keyser for the last 19 years. He was employed for 29 years by the Luke Paper Mill for 29 years in the Power Recovery Department; a former employee of WABTEC and last employer was Northrop Grumman. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose #662 in Keyser, the National Rifle Association and the National Wildlife Turkey Federation.
Scott was a loving husband, father, and son with his family being the most important part of his life. Scott had a passion for adventure and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed riding The Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap along the North Carolina-Tennessee state line; he would try to go as often as possible. Every one that knew Scott knew that he had a great sense of humor, he was usually quoting some of his favorite movies and TV shows, like Seinfeld. Scott had many blessings in life, but the greatest of all was his two daughters and his wife. They were the light of his life. The love he had for his wife was like no other; together they were one. They were married for 24 years. He was so proud of the young women his daughters are becoming. He was very active in their lives and school activities; he especially loved going to watch them play in their tennis matches. He was not only dedicated to his own children, but he was also a big influence in his nieces and nephews’ lives, they all loved their Uncle Scott. Scott always said that his dad was his biggest hero but if you asked his dad, he would say it is the other way around; Scott is his hero. Scott’s life was over too soon, he will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving in addition to his parents, George and Eva are his loving wife, Michele Lynn “Shelly” (Corbin) Tasker; his two daughters, Whitney Elaine Tasker and Emily Paige Tasker, whom he cherished and adored; two sisters, Phoebe Smith and husband Greg and their children, Jesse and Sydney and Joni Rice and husband Joe and their children, Maddie, Morgan and Brody; mother-in-law, Linda Corbin and very special uncle and aunt and business partners, Robbie and Gail Haines. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
