Patricia Ann Pancake

    NEW CREEK, WV - Patricia Ann Pancake, 84, departed this life and went to spend eternity with the Lord on the evening of March 15, 2024. 
     She was born in Swanton, MD on March 12, 1940, and was a 1958 graduate of Southern High School. She was the daughter of the late Weston & Eloise Friend. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert A. (Bob) Pancake, a brother, Dennis Friend, and two son-in laws, John McWhorter and Mark Ollom. 
     She attended meetings in a Gospel Tent in New Creek and was born again in July 1970. For nearly fifty years, she worshipped at the New Creek Gospel Hall.  Her testimony was one of quiet and unwavering faith.
     “Her children rise up and call her blessed. Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” ~ Proverbs 31:28-29. This verse perfectly encapsulates her life as a cherished and respected woman. Pat was a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker.  She enjoyed crocheting and made blankets and hats for her great nieces and nephews. She gardened, canned, cooked and shared with everyone. Her life was filled with warmth, love, and unending devotion to those closest to her. 
     She is survived by two daughters, Kelly McWhorter of Romney, WV and Maryann Pancake of Bridgeport, WV and a son, Bobby Pancake and wife Heather of Bear, DE., a brother, Gary Friend of Alachua, FL and a sister, Crystal O’Brien of Cresaptown, MD. Five grandchildren, Harmony, Levi and wife Julie, Zach and wife Abbie, Jake and Haylee.  Two great grandchildren, Sophia, and Judah along with numerous nieces and nephews.
     A private burial was held at Ward Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life Open House Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 2:00-5:00pm at 121 Pancake Road, New Creek, WV 26743.
