KEYSER, WV - Caryl Jean Bartling Ferrel, 61, died peacefully on July 24, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital of WVU, Morgantown, WV, with her sister, Sally, at her side.
She was born in Camden, NJ, daughter of the late Jean Miller Bartling and Earl F. Bartling, Jr.
Although Caryl had been a “Jersey Girl” her entire life, she soon became an enthusiastic “Mountaineer” after moving to Keyser to live with her sister.
Caryl’s forte in life was organization. Over the years, she served as an office manager for Atlantic City GYN Group and Professional Pain Management Associates of Hamilton, NJ; billing manager, Asjok. K. Pills, M.D. of Vineland, NJ; and Adjunct Professor, teaching medical bill and coding classes, at Cumberland County College, Vineland, NJ.
She was an avid gardener, reader, excelled in beaded cross stitch, cooking and baking. Her tastes in entertainment ran the gamut from science fiction to British television.
Caryl’s surviving family includes her children, Kristin Ferrel Hartman, and Matthew Ferrel; grandson, Kyle Hartman; a sister, the Rev. Sally Bartling, and a brother, David Bartling.
Services will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, 76 N. Davis Street, Keyser, Saturday July 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Sally Bartling, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Rev. Lauren Godwin, Grace Methodist, Keyser. Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
Arrangements were handled by Markwood Funeral Home of Keyser.
