Harold Dean Nofsinger

Owner/ Licensee in charge

Dean is a graduate of Bruce High School, Frostburg State College and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  He was born in Luke, Maryland, the youngest of nine children.
     In October, 1989, he purchased the Markwood Funeral Home and returned to his hometown area and resides in Keyser where three of his siblings live.  Dean brings 35+ years of experience in the funeral industry after working in Piedmont, Cumberland, Rockville, Riverdale and Waldorf.
     He is a member of Church of the Assumption, Past president and member of Keyser Rotary, Fountain Ruritan, Knights of Columbus, Keyser Moose, VFW Post 6775 Queen's Point Men's Auxiliary, West Virginia Funeral Directors Association and Maryland Funeral Directors Association.

Robert A. Schadler

Bob Schadler was born in Keyser and a long time resident.  He graduated from Keyser High School, Potomac State College, West Virginia University and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he was an honor graduate.

He has been a licensed director with the Markwood Funeral Home since his graduation from Pittsburgh.  He serves as Delegate in the West Virginia Legislature and a school bus operator.  He is a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as choir director, Keyser Kiwanis, 4-H Leader Association, Woodmen of the World, West Virginia School Service Personnel, Tri-State Funeral Directors Association, West Virginia Farm Bureau, Apple Alley Players Community Theater, Mineral County Republican Executive Committee, and Honorary member Keyser Volunteer Fire Department.

Bob is married to Sandra Kay Hartman and they are the parents of two adult children, Geoffrey and Michelle.

Jean Burton

Office Manager

Jean Burton is our Officer Manager and sister of Dean.  She graduated from Bruce High School and Catherman’s Business School and studied Computer Science at Potomac State College.  Jean has many years experience in office management.

She also works closely with the family to personalize the services.  

Jean is a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Methodist Women, Treasurer of National Daughters of American Revolution Fort Ashby Chapter, Order of Eastern Star Alkire Chapter #10, Loyal Order of Moose #662 Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post #6675, Queen's Point, Disabled Veterans Auxiliary, and Red Hat Ladies.

She and her husband Harry reside in Keyser and are the parents of one son, Ross Burton and wife Kristin who live in Annapolis, MD, and a grandson, Alex.

Harry R. Burton

Harry is a graduate of Shepherd University and U.S. Army Veteran of Korean Conflict.  He owned Burton Laboratory in Keyser, an anatlytical coal, water and soil lab., for 20 years.  After closing his business, he worked for 10 years at Allegany College in the Microbiology Lab.

He is a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he has served as treasurer, United Methodist Men and several committees in the church, Maryland District 3 Chaplain of VFW, Chaplain of Queens Point VFW Post #6775, Disabled American Veterans, Kelly Mansfield American Legion Post #52, Davis Lodge #51 AF & AM, Loyal Order of Moose #662 and Potomac Valley Volunteer Fire Department and volunteers with The Helping Hands.

Harry resides in Keyser with his wife Jean and pet dog, Cleo.

Don is a native of Keyser, a graduate of Keyser High School and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.

He and his wife Sandy (Hedrick) Sanders are active members of Calvary United Methodist Church where they serve on several committees and is a volunteer with The Helping Hands.

A talented craftsman, Don owns and operates Don's Woodcraft Shop from his home in Keyser.

Bob is a native of New Creek, a graduate of Keyser High School, a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Westvaco.

He is an active member of Rees Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of Boyce Houser American Legion Post #41.

A resident of Keyser, he is maried to Linda ((Shaffer) Amtower and they are the parents of 2 sons, Ted Wilson and wife Niki of Clear Spring, MD and Jeff Wilson and wife Julie of Keyser.  They are also the grandparents of 2 grandsons, Josh Wilson and Jarrett Wilson and a granddaughter, Halley Jane Wilson.

Helen is a sister of Dean and Jean and lives in Keyser.  She is a native of Luke and a graduate of Bruce High School and a retired Federal Employee.

She is an active member of Assumption Catholic Church, President of the Ladies Guild, member of Catholic Daughters of America, National Daughters of American Revolution Fort Asby Chapter, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Loyal Order of Moose #662 Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6775, Queen's Point Auxiliary, Red Hat Ladies Society and volunteer of Heartland of Keyser.
